Lakshadweep tour
Started from Cochin on 6.12.2010. Ship Name: Lakshadweep Sea
First stop:Minicoy island
Activities: Kayaking, Scuba diving, Lighthouse
Second stop:Kadmat island
Activities: Kayaking, Snorkeling, Coconut powder factory and Coir factory visit
Third Stop:Kavaratti island
Activities: Kayaking, Glass bottom boat ride, Deep sea snorkeling, Beach volleyball
Did star gazing after a long time. Did snorkeling and Scuba diving for the first time. I loved it. Wish I could remember all that I saw while swimming through the sea. I found snorkeling relatively more appealing as there is no heavy equipment like compressed air tank as in scuba diving. You move around the sea at your own pace, halting in between when you see something like a school of fish. Scuba diving needs more expertise. The advantage is that you go deeper and can stay longer with the help of compressed air.
Star gazing was fun. Ursa Minor was easy to spot. Ursa Major which one easily spots when lying on one's terrace was conspicuous by its absence. Learnt about Orion, the hunter.
